Yes, in fact, the type of storage and charging devices are basically the same as the units you use today. From battery power, to charging these units, they are fundamentally the same as the units you and I use daily. Yesterday, we didn’t have to cleanest signals produced by fuel burning generators.  Today, most battery backup up power is supplied by inverter/ power generators with storage capabilities. These units produce a clean signal, called a Pure Sine Wave. With yesterday fuel combustible engine generators, it was hard to find a generator producing a clean sine wave frequency.  We still had problems with that, with the machine running correctly. With pausing from glitches of running in a less desirable fashion, these units didn’t produce constant, uninterrupted clean power to the generator. Battery storage banks have little to no interference, allowing it to be a free flow of constant power. Â
When choosing the size of a power stations, we want to calculate the appliances we intend on using. We calculate battery power or storage the same way we would have figured out wattage/ voltage for a combustible generator. When we add up all appliances, this is the amount of power we are capable of using.  There is no way to figure storage capacity, of the amount of batteries you will need, due to difference of opinion.  Some people want to store 20, to 50, to 100 percent over the amount of power you are capable of using at a maximum; beyond what it already stores.  There is always the possibility of recharging the battery packs up every 24 hours.  Let’s be honest, we will only use a portion of the power, maybe 20 – 40 percent of what we are capable of producing totally.  Depending on your need for power, every individual or business will have a difference in the amount of power they draw.  With this being said, the storage capacity of battery power will differ, upon ones abilities and capabilities. In the long run, it’s your choice, financially and storage ability.  constant power. Â
In the past we used a lead acid based battery.  There were many different types of batteries, sealed, flooded, AGM, Nickel cadmium, and numerous other battery chemistries.  Today our top leader is Lithium Ion Phosphate, and this to will be replaced in the future by some sort of salt based chemistry. Batteries in the past were only capable of producing power within 50% of their life cycle, then you needed to recharge them.  Your best interest was to monitor the batteries, and recharge them, or you depleted the battery life. They only produced 100% power for a specific time, generally slowing down, to run at a depreciating power once you passed it’s maximum capability.  Today, we can use almost 100% of the batteries power, charge them faster, and get almost 100% of running power, till the battery dies. Yes, we were not capable of running batteries till they died, unlike today.  Batteries had a sort of memory, for a negative impact of it’s life.
